HOTSHOT
"A Wild Night Awaits—Pass, Play, and Survive!"
How It Works
Setup
Hold the Start button for 3 seconds to turn on Hot Shot.
Press the Start button again to start the game.
Gameplay
Before each round, draw a Category Card (e.g., "types of fruit," "movie titles").
Players must name one word from that category before passing Hot Shot.
Keep passing Hot Shot before the timer runs out.
The round ends when Hot Shot randomly flashes a color—what happens next depends on the color!
Light Signals & Actions
Red Light (Shot/Dare) – The player holding Hot Shot has two choices:
Drink the shot inside Hot Shot
Raise the stakes by adding another shot to Hot Shot instead.
Orange Light (Wild Card) – Draw a Wild Card and follow the instructions for a surprise twist!
Card Rules
Category Cards: Players must list words from the chosen category before time runs out. The last person to answer when time’s up is Hot Shotted!
Dares: If you don’t want to take a shot, you can replace it with a dare. (Considering Designated Drivers)
Wild Cards: Introduce unexpected challenges when drawn.
Fully Charged Mode (3 Shots)
Hot Shot can hold up to 3 shots at a time.
The first three players caught can choose to drink or add a shot.
Once Hot Shot is fully charged (3 shots), the next unlucky holder must drink all three shots or take on three dares.
Winning & Losing
The goal is to survive without getting stuck with too many drinks.
The longer you play, the harder it gets!
Project Overview
Duration: 1-week group project
Course: Toy/Game Design
Hotshot is a high-energy party game that fuses Hot Potato with drinking games for escalating tension and thrill. I pitched the concept, designed the Hot Shot device, and created the game mechanics, including the increasing pressure as the game progresses. My teammates handled branding and other elements, resulting in a fast-paced, unforgettable social experience.
